Car Fund for Maureen

I’m raising money for Maureen to buy a car. She is a favored cashier at Target and loved by all who know her! She has worked there since they opened 17 years ago. Last May, she & her husband were in a car accident. Their old truck was totaled. Insurance didn’t give them very much money, certainly not enough to replace their truck. Since then they have commuted from Summerville to Mt. Pleasant  for her job. There’s no bus system coming from Summerville.  So they have to get a ride from Summ. to Rivers Ave. They catch the bus from there to downtown. Then they have to switch buses to get on a bus that comes into Mt. Pl. The closest bus stop to Target is about a half mile away. So they walk from the bus stop to Target whether it’s cold, raining, or blistering hot. Then they do the same thing in reverse when she gets off of work in the late afternoon. It’s quite a process every day! Please know that this is all my idea, but I did ask for her permission. She has been patiently saving money and would never ask for help. I had seen her walking a couple of times and made it my business to find out what was going on. Now with the coronavirus going on, the bus schedule is drastically reduced which is causing her to miss 3 hours of work every time. She is fearful that the buses will quit running all together not to mention with the reduced schedule it’s taking away from her income. Maureen is such a wonderful person and people purposefully go in her check out line. She is so genuine and a friend to all. She spreads sunshine and always tells you to have a blessed day.
