I'm going to Ukraine
Hi, my name is Martin, and I'm a prior service US Army field artillery officer. I trained in the early 90's to fight the Russians on the plains of Europe using much of the equipment now being given to the Ukrainians. I've long felt that I should be doing more to support their struggle for freedom and self-determination, and was struck by the consistent observation that there is a need for 4X4 vehicles to help with civilian evacuations, delivering supplies, moving wounded, etc.
I've decided to act.
I'm going to take time off work, fly to Europe from the US, purchase a heavy diesel pickup, fill the bed with supplies, and drive it across Europe to Lviv, Ukraine where I will turn it over to a local charity before returning home. I've already connected with the charity, as well as a friend who lives in Munich to help make the vehicle purchase, and plan on making this trip in late October.
Help me purchase the vehicle and supplies
We estimate that the used 4-Door 4X4 pickup truck we will purchase will cost $15K - $20K. Any excess funds will go towards the sort of supplies which will make life at the front bearable this winter: sleeping bags, rain gear, camp stoves, etc.
Please consider making a donation to help with the costs associated with this. My wife and I feel that this a great use of our funds, and we hope you feel the same.
Unfortunately, there is not sufficient time to create a 503(c)(3) entity (the IRS review of applications takes 3-6 months), so donations will not be tax deductible.
