Neighbors Helping Neighbors:

I just learned of a pair of Denton neighbors who have been homeless and are working to get back on their feet. They've been living in their car - she works a day job and he, disabled, does Uber Eats as often as he's able. But she just had an accident bad enough to total their car (she's okay), so they're totally stranded and now properly homeless. In this heat, no less.

After long searching in this really tight used car market, they finally found a car - a 2006 Subaru in good shape. The guy was asking $4500, but when I shared the situation with him, he immediately came down to $3800 ($4100 w/ TT&L). I told him we could get the money pretty quick (hopefully by Thursday), so he said he'd hold it till then with just a $500 deposit.
