Car for medical trips and store runs

Hi, my name is Chris LaFollette, and I'm hoping to raise money for my mom and me to get a used car for medical trips and runs to the store. We're both disabled, and as of June 14th, we no longer have a car. We were hit in an intersection by an uninsured motorcyclist going way above the speed limit. He impacted our front driver doorpost at full speed while we had a green arrow to turn and caused the driver's side mirror to fly into the car, hit my mom upside the head and land in my lap, covering us both with glass and jarring her neck. Our insurance is only liability coverage and will not help with the damages this caused, which has rendered the vehicle totaled.

 

We're in desperate need of a win. We are in the middle of trying to find section 8 housing on top of us both needing to go to our various doctor's appointments and disability hearings, and as anyone knows, these days without a vehicle are challenging times indeed. Any little bit helps, and the goal is set at 5k to realistically find a used car in that price range OR fix the one we have in the tow lot, whatever ends up being cheaper. We just need something that will shuttle us around and keep us able to get to the doctors on time.
