Car for a domestic abuse victim

Hi there! I'm helping a good friend get out of an abusive marriage. She has chosen to let the husband keep their furniture and car to allow for familiarity during visitations which leaves her nothing at the moment. She'll be moving into her own place sometime in July, and we have already had all the furniture donated to furnish her new place.

What she needs now is a car.  I'm a decent mechanic so I can fix almost anything so it doesn't have to be perfect.  

Anything you can give would be very much appreciated.  Once we reach our goal I will post photos and proof of purchase.
