Car Accident Recovery for Our Family

Hello! As some of you know my mother and 20 year old brother were in a car accident on the morning of January 20th 2025. They were hit head on by an suv while my mother was taking my brother to work. My brother has an acute concussion and a gash on his right finger so he is having a little trouble trying to learn to use his non dominant hand for the time being until healed. He does not remember anything from the day nor the crash. He was discharged from the hospital, however my mother unfortunately will not be able to go home yet. She has about a 5cm laceration on her left cheek that had to be stitched with 12 stitches and shes so lucky that she did not lose her eye as it is so close to her left eye, a hematoma in her left cheek, a fractured neck, an L1 compression fracture in her back that we are waiting to hear back from if she will need to have surgery on, a laceration on her spleen, fractured ribs, a broken pelvis, and a broken/fractured hip that spasms into her legs and lower back, a fractured right ankle that they put a boot on and a large extracranial soft tissue/scalp hematoma at the posterior cranial vertex. She had surgery for her hip and had a rod surgically placed in the day she was admitted to the hospital. We found out a few days after her surgery that she has active internal bleeding adjacent to her femur. She had a blood transfusion due to her blood levels being too low and the doctors are monitoring her hemoglobin levels to determine if she will need emergency surgery on her hip again. They had a pressure wrap on her hip however decided to take it off and her hemoglobin dropped significantly again. During and after rehab she will be in a wheelchair for about 3weeks. As of right now we are still waiting to hear back about confirmation on other surgeries. We have found out that physical therapy is recommending that she go to a rehab facility for about a week and the be bed rested at home with someone with her 24 hours. She is not able to walk at this time only pivot. My mothers car is completely totaled due to the accident. This was their only source of transportation and the car was not fully paid off yet. My mother is a single mother taking care of my 10 year old brother by herself and my 20 year old brother that was involved in the accident lives with them. We are asking for prayers, support and love during this time for our family. I have decided to create this page in hopes of helping my mother and brother with a new car cost, traveling, meals, medical bills or medication that will not be covered by insurance, our brother being off of work for his recovery, essential items, etc. Thank you all who have reached out and have been praying for them. It will be a long recovery mainly for my mother due to her injuries, but they both got this!
