In March, eight students will be traveling to Chicago for the American Marketing Association's (AMA) International Collegiate Conference, and we are asking for your help in generating funds to help offset costs to enable our participation.

 

While there, we will be participating in the final round of the AMA's Collegiate Case Competition, as well as marketplace and strategy simulations, as well as sales, pitch, and research competitions.

 

For six months, our group spent over 2,000 accumulated hours, collected and analyzed 643 surveys, and compiled the data of 340 unique references for our case submission. In a pool of over 380 schools, we were selected as one of the top ten case submissions. In the final round, we will be presenting our case to a delegation of senior management from the case sponsor, Amazon. This is an incredible opportunity for our locally based university.

 

 

Since the Capilano University Chapter of the American Marketing Association began participating in this competition, we placed second in 2016, and third in 2017. This year, drawing on our own learning and expertise, as well as the insights gained from past teams, we are determined to win first place at this year's conference.

 

Only a few weeks ago, we attended the Annual Regional Conference and the CAPUMA delegation won first place in both the case competition SABRE strategy simulation, third place in the sales competition, and 4th in the 'backpack' competition.
