Captive elephants face starvation due to Covid 19
Captive elephants in Thailand ~ and across the world ~ are facing starvation due to the Corona outbreak.
They live in venues that rely on tourism to keep them afloat. With no tourists, the venues are struggling to feed their elephants; some have already had to close and re-home their elephants.
Thailand Elephants is fundraising to feed captive elephants in Thailand through the pandemic. It costs around £50 per day to feed one elephant, and there are approximately 4,000 captive elephants in Thailand.
Please donate whatever you can and share with any friends or family who may like to help the elephants through this uncertain - and worrying- time.
More information about Thailand Elephants: Thailand Elephants is a registered UK charity that educates the public about the importance of the conservation and protection of elephants, and the improvement of captive elephant welfare standards.
By raising awareness and funds we hope to relieve the suffering of captive elephants by helping to provide appropriate care, protection, treatment, and security for elephants for years to come.
