Captain Rolo’s Leg Surgery at Lakeport Vet
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
As many of you know, Captain Rolo has hurt his leg!
Several of you have suggested this platform to assist us raising funds for his surgery.
I would have gotten this out sooner, but a busted water heater & well pump happened, in addition to the fact that asking for assistance is extremely humiliating for us. While both David & myself are overcome with positive emotions regarding the outpour of support, I also carry loads of baggage around this, which is why I humbly ask that you do not share this on socials or via a giant email blast to our greater community.
When David called to tell me that Captain’s $700 diagnosis was a $10,000 plus surgery , I decided to get a second job waiting tables to save money for Captain’s operation, but several of you pointed out that it would take too long & suggested this!
With additional research, we found a Vet in Lakeport who will perform the surgery for $5,000 +( they say to always expect it to go over that by about $1000-yes, per the vets front office people!)
Captain is so important to our family. We all love him so much!! He is literally a ball of love & light. I truly believe he anchors love & joy in our home. He loves to snuggle with all of us. Whenever we hug, he jumps up and joins in the family hug. When any of us cry, he rubs up against us, or will sit on us then cover us with kisses. When our voices raise & tension is high he becomes anxious. We all love him so much that most of the time, seeing him struggle stops us from seeing red. He is sorely missing our sunrise & dusk walks. He can’t help but run on three legs to greet us when we get home.
We do have a little bit of credit to help pay for this, & I know that $6,000 is a huge ask. Any amount will help. I know I’ve been embarrassed when all I could offer towards a friends go fund me was $20, but now I know I should not have been. Every little bit does help & we are so grateful that we even feel comfortable enough sharing this with you. The silver lining about needing this help right now has been feeling the support & concern everyone has had for our beloved Captain Rolo.
Love You,
