It comes with great sorrow to announce that Anders lost his battle with
mesothelioma early this morning . He fought like the viking in his blood and has been an inspiration in so many ways.

Anders was born in Denmark and immigrated to Canada when he was 11 years old. He loved to tell the stories of his trip across the Atlantic with his brothers and Mom and Dad. Soon after high school, he found his first true love; the Sea. Even in his last days he spoke so frequently about sailing. He had an amazing career and I'm so proud of his accomplishments. I'm so blessed that I was able to take so many trips with him and experience his love of the lakes first hand. He never was truly at home when he was at home, he was like a fish out of water. But our lives were filled with love and laughter and our combined love of mini golf.

Anders leaves behind his brothers; Nils, Peter, Hans and sister Dawn. Our children from Germany; Zachary, his wife Viola, and children Finn and Alma. From Johnson, Melissa and her husband Kyle, and children, Isabel and Madeline. From Niagara Falls Ontario; Kirsten and her children Kya and Adyen Also from Niagara Falls Ontario, Dane and Shawna and their son William. And of course, me Donna, his beloved Country Girl. He loved his Grandchildren and spent many days making them laugh. They brought so much joy to his life and he to theirs.

Through this 7 year journey with mesothelioma, a cancer that shows its ugly head 25-30 years after you've been exposed to asbestos, we have been blessed by so many doctors Kim Bruno, Stephen Ades, Mary Ellen Antkowiack, and all the nurses at the infusion lab in Burlington. As well as organizations like Lamoille Area Cancer Network who, for all his years getting chemo, they sent Anders a monthly check to help pay for gas and food on our way to and from chemo appts. And of course Lamoille Home health and Hospice. I'm not sure how I would have handled these last few months without them.

Anders has requested no funeral, and no celebration of life. As loud and bold as he was in life, he would like his departure to be a quiet passing. My own life is going to be changing quite a bit as, in the spring, I will be putting our house up for sale and building a tiny house with less upkeep. It is there that we will have a gathering in the spring to share stories and celebrate his astonishing life. I will update all of you when that day gets closer.

This GoFundMe is to raise money for the organizations that meant the most to Anders; The Lamoille Area Cancer Network, Lamoille Home Health and Hospice, and of course to Enosburg Falls Country Clubs Jr Golf program. So anything you would like to donate will be divided up the way he wished and it is with great thanks for your generosity. I hope to raise a good chunk so will leave this open until the celebration and announce how much we raised for each organization.

Anders has left a larger-than-life mark on this life, and will leave an even bigger hole in our hearts.
