Capsular Contracture Fix and Implant Swap
I am my name is Farrah. I am a trans woman from Indiana. I transitioned in 2012. I’ve had bottom surgery been on hormones for years. Transition socially and medically and legally. In August I had top surgery to enlarge my breast after they had reached their maximum via HRT. I have a small complication known as capsular contracture. Basically it means the pocket that’s all to one of the implants as extra skirt issue which is constricting the implant. It causes it to ride to high. It causes pain and discomfort. And aesthetically it changes the symmetry between the 2 breasts.
I have met with my original surgeon we have come up with a plan on how to fix the pocket. But also decided while we’re in there because of the way my chest cavity is and how the larger silicone implants are almost swallowed up so they don’t look as big or projected. But we are going to switch to saline implants and increase their size at the same time. Increasing me from 755cc silicone up 1200/1500cc saline.
Discomfort I feel day today from the contracted implant is it severe yet but it does hinder certain day-to-day activities. It makes it hard for me to lift anything over a certain weight or lift my arms a certain height above my head or even lay down a certain way. Some days are better than others but I usually have some sort of strained egg throughout the day.
I put the full quote as what I’m trying to raise even though I will be able to cover some stuff myself. I’ll be using my stimulus check towards this. I’ll be using my tax refund towards this. And I will be putting away money from my other areas of income to raise as much as I can.
I’m also in plans with a friend who is also getting top surgery who is raising money for it. To do a community fundraiser swap meet craft small business fair. Help us raise money for us and other people who are trying to pay for trans related surgeries or hormones that insurance won’t cover.
