Hello everyone, my name is MaryKate McNeill and I am an educator at CAPS Central located in Plainfield and North Plainfield, New Jersey.

Every summer College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS) sends our scholars to study at the top colleges and universities across the GLOBE. This summer we are sending our scholars to study in Barcelona, Tokyo, Tuscany, at Oxford University in England, Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, NJIT and Georgian Court. This program is essential because it provides our scholars with opportunities not typically afforded to individuals who live in their communities, gives our scholars a taste of college life and allows them to become global citizens- networking with professors and students from across the globe and nation. This situates CAPS Central Scholars to achieve success once they graduate high school and continue on to the top colleges and univerisites across the nation.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

This summer we are sending 63 scholars across the globe! But as you may imagine the costs of this program are astronomical. College Achieve Public Schools covers roughly 90% of the SOAL program costs alleviating much of the cost for our scholars and families. The remaining 10% we ask families to contribute- $1000 per scholar.

This year we are asking the GoFundMe community, our friends, family and local community memebers to help us raise $20,000 to help offset costs for our families to be able to send our schoars on SOAL without the financial burden. Times are tough for many across the state and this fundraiser will help support our families in raising the money so we can send their children on these amazing programs!

The money raised goes to the individual program, the classes scholars take, all flights and transportation, all meals and also spending money.

I have had the privliege of working at this amazing school for many years and have known many of these students and their families since they were very young and I do not know scholars who are more deserving!!
