Art Saves // René Capone & friends create a new art gallery & community space in a beautiful "Cherry Land" where the sun always shines ... litterally!
In 2016 - 2017 I had the great pleasure of meeting many new artists in California as I tried to recover from the medical malpractice nightmare of my Avascular Necrosis hip and leg replacements. Most people don't know this but it will be an ongoing journey. I've given fighting this condition my all and I must I've mostly had an amazing experience by deciding not to be disabld and instead spearheaded a new art gallery at 611 Hyde Street in San Francisco. Our gallery was a smashing success because we had amazing ... and I mean stellar amazing artists. Artists that reconfirm the hero's journey in every stage of life with artists of all ages & walks of life. It was a huge concern of mine to try include a slice of life from lots of very good pies. I saw a future in these doings and wanted to continue with all the artists I knew.
From there I found a free standing building in Northern CA. In CherryLand it stood complete with it's own bus stop. Too perfect and wonderful, I went for it thinking to myself I could certainly house, show and promote art here. I Know so many artists who could really use this.
On a shoe string budget I opened Capone Fine Art / THE CHERRYLAND ART GALLERY. Life is risky business. You can't be a working artist for 20 years without believing in some degree of faith in higher powers. I would like to continue to strive towards the goal of being an art dealer with my crew of amazing artists. With the arts in america severely under funded, appreciated and cared for, I seek to approach this by not running for cover but trying doing what others would say is impossible. Why, because I believe in impossible.
I see community and diversity as strengths so I would also like to offer up the studio as a grass roots community meeting space to anyone who needs it.
These amazing artists who have put so much trust in me deserve a chance to succeed. I would like to ask for the this fighting chance not just for me but for the artist in my life that I love. Conversing with them and getting to know them and their work has been my greatest joy the past few years.
THANK YOU FOR READING - IF YOU ARE READING THIS YOU ARE PART OF THE RESISTANCE >

Advertising is probably my biggest challenge however I would like to ride out and find ways around that issue. One of the reasons I'm asking for financial help is so I can advertise for my artists. In society the arts are fundamental building blocks to ideas and to our identities. It dose not take much to get people to care about the world around them, sometimes all it takes is a few good art shows.
