There’s No Greater Gift Than Restoring Sight
Warwickshire Westwood Lions will be holding a life-changing Eye Camp at the Lions Eye Hospital, Adampur, India from 5th – 13th March 2026.
️ What’s Happening?
In the lead-up to the camp, Outpatient Dispensaries will be set up across surrounding villages throughout January and February 2026. Here, doctors will examine patients and identify those in need of surgery.
- Those not requiring surgery will receive free medicine or prescription spectacles.
- Those diagnosed with operable conditions will be transported to the Lions Eye Hospital for free surgery.
Surgeries & Treatments
From 5th – 13th March, surgeries will be performed from morning till evening, with 125–150 procedures per day.
The eye camp provides high-impact, low-cost treatments:
- Adult eye surgery: Only £30 per patient, covering:
- OPD consultation
- IOL surgery
- Pre/post-op medication
- Prescription glasses & protective sunglasses
- Food and accommodation
- Transport to/from village
- Squint surgery for children: £230 per child
More than 85% of blindness in India is preventable, with Cataracts and Glaucoma being the most common causes. These camps are one of the most effective ways to restore vision in large numbers over a short period.
