Capital Campaign For First Pres Nursery School

Since early 2021, the children have been unable to use the upstairs rooms at First Pres Nursery School as the Fire Department now requires a sprinkler system be in place.
Our beloved community room where we hold our many early years conversations, where we gather to hear our struggles and joys, where we create community - has remained empty. The library is where the children discover new books, the hallways that they explore in small groups, the science room filled with wonder, and the studio space made especially for them - has remained empty. As the COVID restrictions are cautiously being lifted, we want to ensure that the school still has access to these rooms for families and for the children.
With the support of alumni families and the Nursery School Board members, we are trying to raise $200,000 to cover the cost of upgrading the sprinkler system and associated construction costs. This will enable the children to have full access to all the magical and inspiring spaces that First Pres has to offer.
Through our initial outreach, and with the help of current and alumni families and friends, we are starting our go fund me with $90,000 already donated. We have $110,000 to go. To get us to our goal, a family has generously offered to match the next $55,000 in donations!
Please dig deep, ask you family, friends and of course, all contributions are greatly appreciated and fully tax deductible. If you prefer to give via a check you may send one directly to the school .
Donations made through GoFundMe will receive a tax receipt via email from the "PayPal Giving Fund", a non-profit organization that distributes funds to the school.
