Hi friends,

I am writing on behalf of Caolán Kelly who, after 3 years on a waitlist, is now scheduled for their top surgery on February 4! As many of you know, this gender affirming care will massively improve their day-to-day confidence, mental health, and comfort. We are very relieved and excited that this moment is finally here.

While the Ontario Healthcare system covers the majority of the procedure, there are still several necessary costs that fall outside of that coverage, which I’ll detail below. I’m reaching out to our beautiful community in the hope that we can help ease the financial strain of this recovery period and ensure a wonderful human being can heal with as little stress as possible!

Our fundraising goal is $4,000.

As Caolán’s work is contract-based, this time off directly translates to lost income. Donations will primarily help cover some rent, post-op supplies, and the contouring portion of surgery that is not covered by OHIP.

We know how financially overwhelming things are right now, and there is absolutely no expectation or pressure to give. Any amount makes a difference, and sharing this fundraiser is just as valuable and deeply appreciated <3

At a time when trans people are facing increasing hostility and barriers to care, supporting this campaign means giving Caolán the stability and space they need to heal safely & comfortably.
