Canyon's Emergency Care: Single Mom Needs Help

**UPDATE 7:54 pm 3/30/25** 

Canyon had a herniated disc between his 12th & 13th vertebrae (IVDD) which can be common among dogs with long spines. A neurologist had to come in for emergency MRI & surgery today around 4:00pm. 

He got out of surgery around 6:30 and Is in recovery!!! Recovery will take a long time, it could be a month or more for him to start walking again and life will look much different now because it’s possible it could happen again. But I’m so thankful he’s alive and has a shot and a long life! If I hadn’t taken him when I did he could have been permanently paralyzed and I would have had to euthanize.

If not for the instant help I started receiving I would have had a lot more difficulty making the decisions I had to today. 

The amount they quoted was $8,000-10,000 and the deposit I paid upfront was $8000 with the All Pet credit card I applied for this morning.

(3/30/25 9:00am) Our boy Canyon is suddenly ill; his back legs are completely paralyzed, and I have exhausted all options for monetary help. I'm taking him to the emergency vet in Charlotte today to see a neurologist. I was told it could cost up to 10 grand to have him cared for.

Canyon is my soul dog, my constant, my companion, and to my kids, he is the same. We have never loved a dog so much; he's more than our pet, he is our best friend. He is the coolest dog I've ever known. He is only 3 years old and has always been healthy, athletic, and happy. This has hit out of nowhere and completely blindsided us. I am a single mom and full-time artist; I make barely enough to pay my monthly bills as it is, and I am really having to humble myself and ask for help right now to save our pup.

Canyon is loved and adored by so many, and for good reason. He is truly a kick-ass dog who loves to hike, swim, and hunt for rocks probably more than I do. He deserves a long life full of the adventures he loves. Please, if you can help, I will be eternally grateful, and so will my two boys, Xander and Gabriel.
