"Canter" Al Mar: BYC to BY-The-Sea

Help BYC get to Canta Al Mar! By the power of running silly distances, we hope to raise funds to help Barnsley Youth Choir to Interkultur's "Canta Al Mar 2025 - Festival Coral Internacional" - the choir's first international competition since 2017. Between a committed group of BYC members, music team and volunteers, we must run the target of 1722km (1070 miles) - the exact distance from Barnsley, UK, to Calella, Spain - within the month of June. The challenge starts on the 1st June and ends on the 29th June, the date of the Barnsley 10K Race, which many of our members are taking part in. There will be video and photo updates, Strava screenshots and a running total of the distance covered to ensure you see every step we take to completing the goal. The group aims to raise money via sponsorship on this gofundme page to provide vital funds for the competition itself, as well as aiding with the ongoing running costs of the entire organisation. Any donation, large or small, will be gratefully received by an organisation that does so much for the children and young people of Barnsley.

Barnsley Youth Choir is a registered charity formed in 2009. It provides outstanding choral training to around 700 children and young people aged 0-24 years old in 10 separate choirs. BYC seeks to inspire and change lives through music and provide life changing opportunities for those involved.
