Cannonball Run Moto - NYC to LA - World Record

Hello,
My name is Adam Joseph Steggers, and I am a Chicagoland native living outside Dallas, Texas. In September 2022, I am going to attempt to break the Cannonball Run world record on a motorcycle: NYC to LA in less than 32 hours and 52 minutes. The current world record is held by Dallas native Alex Jones, who rode from the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach in this time.
I must ride 2,801 miles in less than 32 hours and 52 minutes to break the current record. This means I will need to ride at an average speed of 90 MPH for the entire duration taking into account any necessary stops. It will be grueling and certainly one of the hardest things I have mentally and physically attempted. With this being an unregulated rally, another challenge in this adventure is dodging speeding tickets!
I am driven to break the Cannonball Run Record for 2 reasons:
1. Most importantly I am doing this ride to support the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in memory of my uncle, Richard Joseph Steggers, who took his life in 2000. Richard was a beloved son, father, and grandfather - and an important role model in my early years.
2. Riding motorcycles is a passion of mine; it allows me to be free. It is a rush that I cannot replicate. I do my best thinking while riding. It's a hobby that makes me a better person.
I am hoping to garner support for my ride, support for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and my efforts to beat the current world record. 70% of all donations will go directly to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in memory of Richard Joseph Steggers while the remaining 30% will go to fund the trip, specifically gas, materials, insurance, and any other necessary supplies.
For the journey, I will be riding a modified 2013 BMW R1200 GS Adventure.
My goal breakdown:
$25,000
70% = $15,000 will be directly donated to National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
30% = $10,000 will go to fund the record-breaking journey including travel to NYC, costs incurred during the run, and travel back from LA
