In 2018, I moved to Las Vegas and started working production at a local soap company that specialized in dessert-themed decorative soaps. I loved my job, not only because I got to make cute little soaps, but because I got to be creative and was actually really good at what I did. As a result of my performance, I moved up quickly within the company and was assigned to make large soap cakes that were used for display in the retail stores. People loved my designs and creativity, being a soap-cake maker was the most fun and rewarding job I'd ever had at the time.
I was often asked if I had ever made a real cake like the ones I made with soap, and why I didn't just make real cakes to sell. I knew how to bake, but never thought about turning it into a business...cake decorating was something I'd never tried. I figured though, I was already using cake decorating tools to make the soap cakes, and the soaps I used were the same consistency as frosting, so how hard could building a real cake be? I bought a box cake and some non-soapy frosting tips just to try it out...nailed it, the rest was history ;)
Why vegan then ? Well I wasn't vegan at the time, but I have a twin sister who is also a sugar addict like me and she happens to be vegan. I knew I couldn't just start baking sweets and have her crying on the sidelines unable to indulge, so I did some research on vegan baking. I had a few trial and error runs before I realized, you don't even need eggs or milk to bake delicious treats! So with my new found knowledge and skills, I decided to only bake vegan... because we all know non vegans can always eat vegan food, but it doesn't work the other way around. This way I could make everyone happy...I eventually went vegan myself of course ;)
So, I dove in...I was baking like crazy while taking orders through social media. I started brainstorming a name for myself. I knew the two things that I loved and were passionate about were cake and herb, so I developed the name, "CannaCakeBabe"....I had found my passion. At first, this was just a hobby of mine...baking for family and friends, taking orders here and there, but as my customer base continues to grow, the recognition and encouragement grows as well. The love for baking and everything that comes with it grows stronger, the work also gets harder, and the hours get longer...but I know that the dream I have of opening a brick and mortor bakery here in Las Vegas can and WILL become a reality. I've come so far in only a couple years, and I am so thankful for all the support I've received not only in Las Vegas but nationwide, I can't wait to reach the next level and complete my vision for CannaCakeBabe!
But first things first, the purpose of this campaign is to raise money to develop a professional and accurate business plan as well as a financial forecast with the help of a top consulting agency that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with. This plan is intended to:
- Help develop a roadmap for the future
- Evaluate the success of the business model
- communicate the vision to stakeholder
- Raise capital from accredited investors and financial institutions
I’m so excited for a chance to work with this particular consultant in the industry, I feel super blessed that our paths crossed and that I have the opportunity to work towards opening a physical CannaCakeBabe Bakery! All donations are welcome, big or small it doesn't matter...all that matters is that I have people like you supporting me :) As a token of my appreciation for donating, I will send out goodies once the campaign ends, guidelines for receiving treats will be:
- $10 donation = stickers and a personalized card from me ;)
- $20 donation = stickers and one 8oz vanilla cake jar
- $50 donation or more = stickers, one 8oz vanilla cake jar and one 16oz custom flavor cake jar
