Canis Minor, the Lesser Dog, the dog that goes before. Dedicated to all the small dogs with big personalities who left us too soon. They wait in the sky to guide us onward.
I'm building a sculpture to take to Burning Man, inspired by my dog Milo who passed away last December. The sculpture is a dog's head covered in shiny mirrors, like a disco ball, as a tribute to Milo. Creating art for Burning Man is always an overwhelming adventure, but this year it feels especially meaningful as I channel my grief into something beautiful and bright.
The funds I raise will go directly toward materials for the sculpture and transportation costs to get it to the playa. With gas prices higher than ever, getting the piece there will be a challenge, but I believe it's worth it to honor Milo and all the little friends we've lost. I want this sculpture to be a sparkling beacon—a reminder that our loved ones are like stars in the night sky, watching over us.
Three years ago, I asked for and received help for my sculpture the Butt Activated Jellyfish, and the support meant the world to me. Now, I'm reaching out again. Your help with materials and transportation costs will make this tribute to Milo a reality. Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping me bring a little more light to the playa.
