From Candy's daughter, Brittany: Our mom is the type of person who puts everyone else before herself. Even when she had vicious headaches all throughout her business trip to New York February of 2014, she kept on working. It wasn’t until her last day working at a trade show that a colleague called a paramedic to attend to her. And we are so thankful he did. She was then rushed to the hospital to have emergency brain surgery. Following surgery, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

From me, Candy's sister: As a mother of four, the maternal instinct is just a part of my nature. My sweet sister, Candy Sherman shared this maternal instinct as she raised my three nieces. As a single mother and sole provider, Candy was more than just a mom. She was a friend, a mentor, an advisor and shared a positive influence that guided her daughters through their toughest times. After a long and couragous battle with cancer, my nieces are now without their mom. Ashley and Brittany just 23 and 21 respectively have been passed the maternal torch in their journey raising their youngest sister Courtney who's just 14. Left with a mortgage to pay and all the grief they can handle, I am asking for your help. The goal is to raise $120,000 so this weight can be lifted from their shoulders.
