My mom, Candy, was diagnosed with Stage IV non small cell adenocarcinoma (lung cancer) on August 9th. She has had numerous tests, biopsies, scans, etc since her first X-ray in July. Last time I reviewed her bills, her insurance had already been billed $50,000. She quickly reached her insurance deductible and max out of pocket for 2018 in one month. She has since picked up a secondary insurance and we’ve found assistance to help with chemo costs each month. She was planning to use her retirement to pay for her current bills, but I’ll be selling my kidney on the black market before I see her do that. So before I do that, I’m going to reach out to all of you to ask for help.  She’s one of the hardest working people I know, and I would love nothing more than to make things just a little bit easier for her during this time.
