CC26 fundraiser is in honour of Candy Straker for ward CC26 New Cross hospital where Candy spent her final weeks, and the doctors and nurses made her wish come true by letting her come home on her final day to be surrounded by family and friends most importantly the care she received will NEVER be forgotten.
25/02/2021 we lost the kindest most loving person most of us have ever came across Candy spread her wings and left to go to a better place, where she joined her Dad and Brother, Candy played a role in many people’s lives from her kids to her family and her friends even strangers she was an all-around LEGAND right until she took her last breath.
We know hundreds of people loved Candy and we know a lot of people have asked to help the family in some kind of way, may that be costs towards the funeral or sending flowers. with full respect and appreciate and how touching it is, we have to say no to any help towards Candys day.
Candy was not a big fan of flowers lol, she would say ‘They are a waste of fucking money lol’ so I would like to say to everyone who wants to help towards Candys day to please donate to her fund raiser Candy will be up there buzzing and be proud of every single person.
Candy said very good things about the Doctors and Nurses on CC26, they were all brilliant with Candy, they loved her and loved being on shift because Candy would make it a fun day for them, Candy acted herself there and that’s why they loved her because she was genuine, they would join in on the FaceTimes, they would cheer Candy up when she was feeling down and hug and hold her hand and in Candys own words ‘they wipe your tears they comb your hair and they do it all from there heart” they made it possible for her kids to go and visit her to cheer her up and kept her save. All staff got the Candy fever the second they met her, they laughed and joked with her like she was there friend and not just a patient she used to joke around and say to us on FaceTime ‘they are fighting to look after me again today’ she made any room she was in a brighter place to be even if she did keep everyone up playing her YouTube songs singing till daft hours she made a home and touched hearts everywhere she went.
Candy has chosen it to be CC26 and not c26 for Tennesse who is her youngest granddaughter.
Candys wish was to come home and do the fund rising but we will carry that on and make it happen for her, Candy wants to give the nurses a big treat and the recognition they deserve so in Candys words ‘DIG DEEP’ no doubt she would say COME ON YOU TIGHT FUCKERS…lol and once the pubs are allowed back open, we will be holding a special day for Candy and do more fund raising.

Candy loved and will deeply miss all her Children, Marcus, Renee, Gregga, Micheal, Ryan, Reece and Grandchildren Marniee, Lawson, Mason, Rivah-Mai, Emelia, Presley, Tennesse, Cobey, Brax, Brea and Taylor, Sean, Alyssia and Farrah.
