Candy Rot Cartoon Pilot
Greetings, I'm horror host Dr. Shriek, some of you might know me as the publisher of the horror print publication Atomic Monster Magazine. For the past several months I've been developing an 80's throwback horror project called CANDY ROT, inspired by such classics as The Monster Squad and Night of the Creeps.
A collaboration with horror punk rockers The Anti-Bodies who wrote, and recorded the theme song. It started out as just a full length practical effects monster movie, and had turned into something much bigger. The goal is to not just making the live action movie, but also an animated series. About a month ago I wrote a 30 second short animated teaser script, and collaborated with Disney animator Uncle Mummy.
Since premiering on Instagram, it's pretty good response online, we've decided to go forward, and produce an 11 min cartoon pilot that will also be used to screen at film festivals, and pitch the series to various streaming channels.

We're thrilled to be collaborating with the amazing artist & fellow horror fiend Muertos Lopez on the cartoon pilot! Here's the original rough design by Bigfat Ratso & finalized our radioactive mutant pumpkin headed monster!
What's Candy Rot About?
In the small Massachusetts town of Pitchfork Falls, filled with supernatural Witch history, strange and unexplained things always seem to happen, but one is the most unusual to date. During the Halloween season of 1987, three horror loving teenagers from Forrest J. Ackerman High who call themselves The Jack-o-Lantern Society Greg, Beatrice and Adam must fight to save their beloved home from a local farmer turned radioactive pumpkin headed monster called Candy Rot, and his army of flesh eating zombies.
What will happen during the big showdown during the town's annual All Hallows Eve Carnival? Will our heroes prevail? You'll have to see it with your own eyes to believe it!
Our Cast of Characters
Adam Raimi - Adam is our Metalhead, favorite food is pizza, favorite band is The Lord's of Death. He's the founder of The Jack-o-Lantern Society. He's also the goalie fr Forrest J. Ackerman High's Ice Hockey team The Warlocks. Greg also spends a lot of time at Beelzebub's Pizza & Arcade playing his favorite arcade horror themed game, Blood Manor, he's obsessed with getting the high score.
Details: He wears a Japanese bandana, and chews bubblegum while killing zombies with his Samurai sword.
Beatrice Phibes- Beatrice is our typical 80s girl who's really into electronic music. She's also attracted to all things dark and spooky.. Her parents think it's because she was born during a Blood Moon on Octobers 31st. When Beatrice isn't serving table's at Beelzebub's Pizza & Arcade, she's writing horror stories. Her dream is to become the next great storyteller like her hero R.L Stein.
Michael Gordon - Adam loves to read horror comics, and considers himself an expert on things weird and mysterious from U.F.O's to the town's very own monstrous legends. Adam also works part time at Videodrome, the local video store, and likes to make direct to video splatter horror movies with his camcorder, and wants to become the next Romero.
What The Jack-o-lantern Society?
It's horror club started by our three heroes Greg, Beatrice and Adam, who go to Ackerman Jr. High in the town of Pitchfork Falls. Every Friday night Greg, Beatrice, and Adam meet in their tree club house at Adam's place, watch their favorite horror movies on VHS, and eat pizza from their favorite restaurant Beelzebub's Pizza & Arcade.
