Candy at the Edinburgh Fringe

Donation protected
The creative team of Candy is trying to raise necessary funds to aid the show having a run during the Edinburgh Fringe at the Bedlam Theatre 12-17 August.

Luke Davies' moving Australian novel about two lovers and their journey through heroin addiction has been co-adapted by Kate Elliott and Freya James, and has enjoyed two successful London runs - at the Old Red Lion Theatre in August 2024 and at the White Bear Theatre in June 2025.

The opportunity to continue telling this story at a festival like Edinburgh Fringe is extremely exciting for the team working on this version of the play - Kate Elliott (Director), Freya James (Candy) and Levi Kenway (Dan). It is a story about love, addiction, grief, and the ways in which our lives are created and destroyed.

We would be incredibly grateful for any support you are able to offer us in helping this show reach audiences in Edinburgh in August. You will be helping us cover the overhead costs of putting the show on, such as venue hire, insurance and marketing, and also the additional costs inherent in a festival as popular as the Edinburgh Fringe, such as travel and accommodation for the three creatives involved.

Thank you for any support that you can provide. The team adores this story, and we cannot wait to tell it in Edinburgh.
