Hello, I'm reaching out for some help for my dear friend, Candice Hodge Clemons. Candice is 32 years old from Campton, KY. She was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor two and a half years ago but, has persevered through chemo, radiation, and surgery after being given only 6 months to live. Before her diagnosis, Candice worked as a RN in the NICU at KY Children's Hospital caring for medically fragile and critically ill infants without hesitation. I had the pleasure of meeting Candice as a coworker which soon blossomed into a beautiful friendship. She was one of the most compassionate nurses I've ever had the chance to work with. She made sure that even the minor details such as using matching bows and blankets were done to make the situation a little easier for the parents of the babies she cared for. Candice was an amazing NICU nurse but even more of an amazing mother to her two daughters, Caroline and Caitlyn. Over the last two years, she has inspired so many of us with her never ending faith and will to live. I have never witnessed such strength. She would receive her chemo and radiation treatments wearing a smile. She never once stopped to ask "God, why me?" In conversation, Candice told me that if her diagnosis could bring only one person closer to God, then it was worth it to her. Unfortunately, according to Candice, her life insurance lapsed while under the care of her former caregivers.  This past spring, Candice reconnected with a high school friend and they were married. Her husband, Adam took her out of her former home and since has been caring for her in the manner she so deserved. Now as her battle is coming to an end, she is in the care of Hospice in Hazard KY but without the resources to pay for an appropriate funeral and burial. Myself and other friends of Candice are hoping to raise enough money to help Adam pay for these expenses. We would be eternally grateful to anyone who could spare to help with this situation. We would love to share her story in hopes of raising enough money to pay for a funeral/burial and to help support her young daughters in a trust fund.
