Candice Leah Sjostrand passed away at 10:20 pm on Thursday, March 12 from complications during cardio pulmonary resuscitation. Unfortunately, she was without oxygen to to long and could not recover. A mother of two, living with Type 1 diabetes, she was a strong woman; a natural fighter. She was, and still is, the soulmate, wife, and best friend of my uncle, Reed Sjostrand. But, in the end, she was called home to be with Jesus.
She is survived her husband and 2 children; my uncle, Reed, her 13-year-old daughter, Katie, and 7-year-old son, Daniel. My uncle also has another child, a 14-year-old daughter named Abigail. Daniel, a precious and fun-loving boy, suffers from epilepsy. My uncle, Daniel, and Katie, currently live on Candice's small farm in east Texas, and tend to several animals, all of which Candice gently cared for up until her tragic death. Unfortunately, Candice had no life insurance, so to help with the surmounting bills from Daniel's health issues and now Candice's death, my uncle has taken on two jobs - all while caring for his three children and farm.
This small, loving family is going through a tough time, and I'm asking everyone to pray for them. And, if your heart feels called to do so, please consider donating any amount towards the Candice Sjostrand Memorial Fund.
Thank you,
Stephanie Garcia
