Hey all, our friend Candi Porter really did it this time…
She went on a float trip with her son and some friends and decided to do the rope swing over the river… well, let’s just say she fell short… too soon… in shallow water and broke her fibula and tibia in her right leg and then developed compartment syndrome … Wow, just to get help, she had to pull herself out of the water, back into the kayak, and row herself 3 1/2 miles to get to shore where the ambulance could pick her up .
It’s going to be a long road of healing before she is back on her feet again. Candi will have her 4th surgery tomorrow morning. She has been in the hospital for 2 weeks already. This surgery should be internal plates and screws vs. what she has now and get her home shortly… then she has to keep the leg up, no weight on it whatsoever for 8 weeks.
She could use our prayers, hugs, warm wishes, and more (I do believe her mother, Cynthia Pendergrass, will be putting up a GoFundMe). You can keep up on her, reach out, and friend Cindy.
She was in really bad shape… there weren’t any smiles on her face until after they did a nerve block on her leg. The pain has been unimaginable!
I have attached a few pictures… I did succeed in making her laugh with the shirts .
