Candi Cuppage

Hello Everyone,

My name is Brittany Power and I am a close friend of the Cuppage/Forget's. Candi is such a light in all of our lives and to witness this happening to her and her family is heartbreaking.

On Wednesday August 23, 2023, Candi endured a severe stroke as she was driving. The stroke caused her to lose control of her vehicle, which resulted in her crashing into a farmers field and striking a shed- only taking place down the street from the Forget's house. They took Candi to RVH and they were able to determine the severity of the stroke and that it had caused a blood clot in her brain. They then rushed her to Sunnybrook Hospital in which the clot had travelled down her neck, blocking her throat. They were able to perform surgery in which they were successful, however Candi will be closely monitored over the next upcoming weeks to ensure she remains stable. There is still an artery blocking in her throat, at this time she is unable to use the right side of her body and hasn't been able to speak as of yet. She is able to point out yes or no answers and is aware of the family's presence- which is certainly positive news. The Forget's alongside the heartache of watching Candi go through this each day, will have the stresses of the cost associated with staying in hotels in the city in order to stay close to her during this time as well as any other expenses that will arise over the next coming months. There is a long road of recovery ahead of Candi and she will most likely remain in the hospital or care for the next few months. Any alleviation we can offer the family during this time would be greatly appreciated.
