In Loving Memory of Baby Dutchess
Born & Passed on the Same Day
On Saturday, July 27th, Candace drove herself to the hospital after feeling unwell and running a high fever. When she arrived, nurses found her unresponsive in the parking lot and rushed her inside for emergency care. While being prepared for an emergency C-section, she was able to briefly FaceTime and share that she was being put under anesthesia.
Shortly after her daughter, Dutchess, was delivered, Candace’s fever broke—before any medication was administered. Dutchess, who weighed 3 lbs and was due on September 30th, was immediately placed in an incubator. Though her heart rate was low, doctors assured it was within a normal range for her condition.
About 10 minutes later, an X-ray technician discovered that her breathing tubes were inserted ½ cm too deep and made an adjustment. Tragically, following that adjustment, Dutchess’s heart rate dropped significantly. Despite 25 minutes of medical intervention and chest compressions, Dutchess passed away at 10:45 p.m.
This sudden loss has deeply impacted everyone who had already welcomed Dutchess in love and anticipation. Her family is now preparing to lay her to rest with the honor and dignity she deserves.
We are raising funds to cover the costs of a proper burial, memorial service, and a headstone for baby Dutchess. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us give her the farewell she deserves.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this unimaginable time.
With love,
