I find myself in the vulnerable position of needing to ask for your support.

I've recently been diagnosed with significant uterine fibroids that have stretched my uterus to three times its normal size, impacting my health and daily life. My doctor has recommended a myomectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the fibroids while preserving my uterus.

This is incredibly important to me, as I hope to have children one day and this surgery is my best path forward to preserve my fertility. There is also a real urgency. If left to grow larger, the fibroids could embed in a way that would make a full hysterectomy the only option. Acting within the next few months allows me to have a less invasive procedure that protects my body and my future hopes for a family.

This health challenge has come at an incredibly difficult time. I’m the primary caregiver for my sister who lives with MS and I was recently laid off from my role. This sudden loss of income and adequate health insurance has placed the cost of the procedure and care out of reach.

I am turning to my community to help me raise $22,000. These funds will be used to cover:

* The surgical procedure and associated pre-op care

* Essential post-op care and medication

* Basic living expenses while I am unable to work during my recovery

Asking for help does not come naturally to me, I’ve spent my life and career being the one providing the help. However, I know I need to in order to get well. Your support would mean the world to me.
