Meet the Combs: Travis, Candace, Brennan, and Ari. They are a joy-filled, genuine, God-loving family. Just over a month ago, they were likely all sitting around the table together eating, laughing, and enjoying the evening. Today finds Travis and Candace separated 600 miles from their littles as Candace awaits an upcoming surgery Monday morning at the Mayo Clinic.
It’s hard to imagine the journey this amazing family has been on these last few weeks. It all started when Candace noticed changes in her vision, along with frequent headaches. An initial MRI revealed a possible pituitary tumor to be the culprit. What began as a minimally-invasive surgery to slurp out the tumor has now escalated into a full-blown craniotomy to remove as much of the meningioma as possible.
Unexpected challenges with insurance coverage, denial of short-term disability, possible risks with the upcoming surgery, being away from their children, all the while continuing to have debilitating symptoms - it’s been one bumpy ride. There have been countless hoops the Combs family has had to jump through, and honestly, they have just taken it all in stride. There is still so much uncertainty surrounding this situation and the enemy is trying his best...BUT GOD! Through it all, this family remains steadfast in their faith and fully believes in the power of prayer.
Thanks to the servant-hearted nature of their close friend Shelly Powell, there is now a GoFundMe page. Please pray how God can use you to best support and love this family. If it’s through prayer, they gladly welcome all that you can send. If you are able, a donation can help lift the financial burden from the extra expenses of lodging, food, gas, medical bills, etc.
Ultimately, We know God’s got this, but we can certainly do our part as His hands and feet!
