CLAUS FAMILY PROJECT!! 

Greetings…and merry Christmas to all!! My name is Tom k. and I was only last week made aware of the crisis facing the Claus family. While not related to Santa…Mike Claus has worked many years building his construction business out of his home of Belleview Florida, where he lives a middle class life with his wife Kim, and three wonderful children… Micheal (6), Myles (4) and Maverick (1). A couple of weeks ago, I had Hired Mike to do some construction work for me at my house. A couple of days prior to the planned start date, Mike apologetically called me and told me that he will be unable to perform the work do to the theft of his entire trailer full of tools of his trade, the night before thanksgiving! I sat stunned wondering who could be capable of stealing a mans livelihood on the day before thanksgiving??? None the less, the ocala police department is following some good leads to an arrest and recovery. When Mike called me to advise of the issue, I offered to help him with the work, I offered to use the tools I had to accomplish this job. Mike then went on to advise me that two days before the theft of his trailer, he had been diagnosed with tumors on his spine that were life threatening, and that would require immediate cancer treatment. If all of this wasn’t enough, it was relayed to me that this had always been a difficult time of year for him anyways because memories of his mothers death when he was young. I sat awhile allowing all that I had heard to sink in, and I suddenly felt compelled to do something to change the direction that this delightful young family was heading. I all to often have entered the Christmas season hoping to find a worthy family in dire need of outside help, yet have seldom succeeded in finding one. I’ll admit that my suspicions about people wanting to take advantage of a holiday giver has not helped. This year is different… I went to his home to see for myself, and fell in love with these people. They are a great American family doing everything that they can do possibly for themselves, and yet have been met with catastrophe. And guess what? While visiting, I noticed that Mike was missing a leg… I left there feeling humbled by their strength and humility in the face of such adversity. I am the first donor to this Go-Fund-Me site, and I hope that all who read this might be touched by the true spirit and meaning of their Christmas season. The Lord said,”As ye have done unto the least of these, my brethren, ye have done unto me. “ Charity never failith!!
