Dear family, friends, and future friends,
The systemic toxicity of the chemotherapy used to treat my 2021 metastatic cancer diagnosis has caused a perilous condition that could become life threatening if not treated immediately. This is far beyond elective dental management.
I dont want my obit to say beat cancer but died of complications from chemo. Unfortunately cancer is a business and hospitals are organized to give standard of care protocols and the minute that is done they slam dunk you out.
I am so grateful to all who contributed to support my healing back in 2021. It is with your love and generous support that I was able to have the resources, strength and resilience to go through cancer treatment while caring for my 100 year old mother and advocating for my daughter Natasha’s cancer journey. I am in remission! I learned so much about healing and am dedicated to helping people transform how we relate to diagnosis . From fear to being empowered. I need your help to get through this bump in the road.
The aftermath of the chemo left a dental and periodontal collapse. What that looks like is deep decay affecting teeth and jaw.
I have been warned by my doctor who is very conservative , that any delay could put me at risk to sepsis. I saw how quickly sepsis took the life of my husband.
Drs also warn that any delay can also create lasting chronic systemic heart or brain disease and even cancer recurrence.
The surgery is very complex. Ive had second opinions and chose the dentist who knows my oral history and a perfectionist . She has been my dentist for 30 years and the periodontist is also one who’s reputation precedes him. The root canals will be done by a very reputable dr as well. My biggest concern is to have this done by someone i trust so its done with integrity. I hear so often of failed dental work. I don’t want to create extended problems.
All my resources are tapped out. Ive used the yearly dental insurance allowance for the dental scans. I dont have savings left after years of medical bills and because of my medical debt i do not qualify for a loan.
People have suggested I consider going to other countries where dental work is cheaper but given the post cancer vulnerability and complexity of treatment, it has been recommended i stay close to my medical team in the states.
it is so hard for me to ask. , and i appreciate any amount you can contribute.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Any amount that you can contribute will go directly to:
* Bone grafting
* Extractions
* Treatment of deep decay of 11 teeth
* Root canals
* Repair of enamel
Here is per dr’s notes
- 1. Immediate caries control at # 5,9 & 10
- 2. Determine which teeth need endodontic treatment ( root canal)
- 3. Deep decay procedures for #'s 7,9,22,23,24,25,26 & 27
- 4. # 3 & 14 are guarded prognosis
- 5. Extraction of #'s 2,20, 15 with bone grafting
- 6. Implant placement at # 20

Untreated, the cumulative effect of all these
can cause risk of chronic systemic illnesses and cancer recurrences. Due to the urgent
nature of the condition, these medical procedures need to be completed right
away.
I am forever grateful for any contribution you can make and .
All my love
Tania
