Help Jamie fight pancreatic cancer

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Kimberly Turner.  And I am writing this to share with you a bit of what has been going on in our family over the past 6 months & I guess introducing us to those of you that do not know us. My husband, Jamie & I live in small-town Georgia and we love it!  Jamie works for the state & I run a home decor & gift store here in town.  We have 2 children, our son Cole is 18 & just graduated from high school & our little blessing baby, Ruby- Claire just turned 2 in July.  We love our life & the people in it!
Jamie is the Athletic director & basketball coach at John L. Coble Elementary.  Coaching is his passion!  He thrives on it!  I truly believe he is at his very best when he is working with those boys.
Over the past couple of months, our lives have changed dramatically.  Jamie had been struggling with pancreatic pain & weight loss for several months. Jamie spent several weeks in the hospital at Emory &  the Drs did many different tests on him trying to find the issue. He was being treated for pancreatitis.  Finally, they decided the only way to calm the pain would be to do a surgery called the Whipple procedure.  In this procedure, they removed the head of the pancreas, 25% of his stomach &  a small part of the intestine. During this surgery, they did a biopsy of a questionable area. The biopsy showed that Jamie had stage 2 B pancreatic cancer.
Honestly, we were shocked, we had been told all along that the Drs did not think it was cancer. Shocked, but so thankful they found it. They were able to remove the tumor, however there were 3 nodes that did show cancer cells. We need you all to pray about those nodes!

Yesterday was Jamies' 2nd round of chemo. Only 10 more! Our oncologist is located in Fayetteville GA @ Piedmont Hospital.  We choose this oncologist not only because we felt comfortable in his knowledge & what his care would be like.  But because of the relationship, the hospital ( and our Dr) has with M.D. Anderson.   Just in case we might need them in the future.
Jamie will have chemo for 6 months &  we pray that at that time all of the tests and scans are good and we can move on with life.  We serve an amazing God and we are leaning completely on him to carry us through this.  Jesus knows Jamie & He knows me & He knows each of our children.  He understands our love for each other, the anxiety & fears that we carry with us. Sometimes we have to be reminded of that!

So this Go Fund me... at this time Jamie will not be able to work ( Covid has made this even more difficult). He is the head of our household & his paycheck has been a necessity.  We were truly not prepared financially for something like this to happen, as are so few.  Your donated funds will help not only cover our household bills but Jamie's insurance & our traveling expenses back and forth to Fayetteville. It will minimize our stress, worry, and concern in this already crazy time.    Thank you for loving us  & praying for us through this.  We need it! We have a long road to go.

This family we all love needs our help. During this time with so many concerns, finances should not have to be an issue. Please join me in donating funds for these precious friends & whether you donate or not, please keep their family in your prayers. Jamie has a long road to go!
