Yep, I'm at it again with a different goal this time.
First, I would like to send a big thank you to those who have helped me in the past. Although the plan was to do a bucket list item, a dream to work with wildlife in another country the funds went to day to day living. Dental work, car repairs, Snoopy upkeep and general day to day expenses. Have I given up on my dream. No. I have changed it to work with who I am now. I can't go traveling with my immune system or with my treatments so I am still working with Marine Mammals in Whatcom county through Whatcom Marine Mammal Stranding Network and assist with other wildlife when possible. Snoopy and I will finally be taking our PetPartners exam next month to allow Snoopy to go into nursing homes, hospitals and the Cancer Center to say hello to patients and bring a little love to them. So thank you everyone.
Second, My fundraising goals are to assist me in setting up my new life. My cancer isn't going anywhere so waiting to get better is a waste of time. I have revamped and decided to do what I can with what I have. That means Ducks In A Row will stay open and take on small clients only. At this point a big shout out to Blue Cab LLC for hanging on to me the last two years while I went through all this. I Love you all. I also have a new client that should start up next year. and a small amount of tax returns coming up in February. I am also launching a new Website that will be cancer related and sell craft items that I make. The photo shows the wrap bracelets I will sell first with other items to come as I get this going. The wraps are hand made by me and are the color of your cancer or a loved ones. They will be sold online and in person.
Third, for those of you who don't know my story here it is. I am living with Stage 4 Metastatic Ovarian Cancer. I have gone through 18 rounds ( 54 weeks ) of Infused Chemo and 5 months of Oral Chemo. I have had a hysterectomy, an abdominal scraping and my lower and upper omentum removed. I won't even go into side effects from the cancer, surgery or chemo. List is too long and somewhat boring. I have just started another 6 rounds ( 18 weeks ) of infused, intense chemo and then back on to a oral chemo that will hopefully last longer. I am finally learning how to live with the new me. I am involved with a Cancer support group of lovely ladies that have taught me so much and assist me with everything and I must say have made me happy again. I love those ladies.
And last, I am trying to raise these funds to start the Cancer website, buy beads for the bracelets, start the legal part of the business and survive without my family covering my costs for the next few months while I do the chemo and pull this together. I am very optimistic that I can do this and hopeful that it will be successful. I just needed to downsize a bit to feel like I could move forward. I have revamped my little studio to allow working spaces with my sister Victoria's help. She helps with so much in my daily life. As does my son Jason and my new daughter in law Chelsea. Thanks to the 3 of you. You have made this easier on me for sure.
I am ready to move on and embrace what I have. I have gone through the mourning process of what and who I was. I'm a new me and I like it.
Not the cancer but the new me.
Thank you everyone. Besides your financial help I greatly love the words of love and prayers you send to me daily. You are all awesome.
