Hello, my name is Stacey and in December 2024, at the ripe old age of 54, I was diagnosed Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), also known as myelodysplasia, which are a group of blood cancers where the bone marrow stops working.

My only option for survival was a bone marrow transplant (BMT) and thankfully, a 100% unrelated match donor was found and my BMT was successfully carried out at the end of April 2025,

Due to the intensity of the chemo and the conditioning needed before the BMT, my total stay was 6.5 weeks, which is a long time for anyone having treatments, but also a long time for the patient’s families.

The rooms are large and I would like to fundraise to buy some home comforts which may help the stay more tolerable and less long, Things like more comfortable seating, puzzles, board games, massage therapy, mini fridges for the rooms and I would of course work with the Trust to see what works.

The reason I am going a GoFundMe rather that direct to charity is because I want to raise funds for specific things and not for it to end up in a big pot somewhere!

I know money is tight for everyone but anything you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of love, Stacey
