Hi my name is Lonnie and I am raising money for Olga Cabral. She injured her back moving 8 weeks ago. We did acupuncture, heat, cold, chiropractic and ozone therapies. After no relief we had xray and MRIs performed. Those images revealed tumors on her spine and inside the lung, as well as a fractured vertebrae pinching her sciatica. We had a lung specialist do a biopsy and she has been diagnosed with stage 4b malignant cancer. It has spread. However the doctor needs to do another test to determine the origin and type of cancer. It is called Sentinel lymph node mapping (SLNM). Afterwards, she needs a vertebroplasty to repair the vertebrae. Finally, she will need radiation treatment and more. Olga lives in Ensenada Mexico and has no health insurance coverage. Friends and family and myself have paid for all exams in cash. However we need more funds to get thru this ordeal. Treatment in Mexico for the SLNM is approximately $500.00, the vertabroplasty is approximately $12,000.00, and radiation therapies is approximately $1200.00 each and she will need 10-12 treatments. There are anticipated incidentals which may cause the costs to soar, however we are concentrating on her immediate medical needs. Olga is 53 years old, never smoked, rarely drank alcohol, doesn't do drugs. She has always practiced healthy eating, yoga, making this discovery of cancer so surprising. She succesfully raised her 2 daughters as a single mother, selling used clothing at local swap meets in Mexico, hence the reason she does not have employer medical insurance. To date we have paid out of pocket around $9,000. Currently she is in excruciating pain due to the fractured vertebrae on her sciatica. We cannot repair the vertebrae until we diagnose the type and origin of the cancer. We are fighting on multiple fronts. We need your help, no matter how small the donations.
