I am fundraising for my friend Teresa Whalen (formerly Wagner) who has helped so very many of us and our animals over so many years. She’s changed my life and countless others with her connection to animals, deep compassion, wisdom and love. Teresa loves animals more than anything in the world and has devoted her life to serve them and their people. Now, she finds herself in a very frightening cancer journey with no family or significant other to turn to for emotional and practical support. She needs our help.

Teresa has experienced a recurrence of endometrial cancer which she initially had over two years ago. Last summer she was in such excruciating pain she could not work for a time. Not only has this drained her savings and created debt but there are numerous additional expenses for her care not covered by insurance. These additional costs are straining finances further, making it impossible to meet both normal monthly expenses and considerable treatment expenses. Sadly, her beloved cat Little K also has cancer is undergoing oncology treatments, and, her beloved cat Natalia also died recently from cancer. I hope you’ll consider joining me in helping Teresa to regain her health, sustain her hope to stay alive, thrive and continue her life’s work and purpose.

My fundraising goal is $40,000 to cover twelve months of Teresa’s treatment expenses not covered by insurance:

Oncologist fees and any conventional treatment are covered by insurance—including surgery, radiation, ultrasounds and CT and PET scans, all of which she has had.

However, additional non-toxic measures that Teresa has carefully researched and are taking under the care of other physicians to heal her body naturally are not covered by insurance, as are none of the doctor visits or treatments.

She is working with an integrative physician who specializes in cancer treatment. Under her care she is on a protocol of FDA approved non-toxic drugs known to kill cancer stem cells (which chemo and immunotherapy do not), induce apoptosis (cancer cell death), inhibit proliferation of tumor cells by regulating signaling pathways, and reduce tumor volume and elimination. This physician also monitors Teresa’s progress with monthly specialized blood tests and markers.

She is also on a sophisticated homeopathic protocol for cancer from a physician who is also a classical homeopath.

In addition, she is working with a physician at the Mederi Center, a clinic specializing in cancer treatment with targeted, evidence-based botanicals and adaptogens to strengthen her immune system to do its job of healing cancer and preventing its spread. Their protocol is created based on Teresa’s specific type of cancer and the markers of blood work and scans. The supplements are very high quality but also expensive.
