<Message from Mr. UZI>

There is an announcement I must make.

It pains me to share it like this, but there's something that I need to tell my friends about.

During summer, I started to feel unwell, and I was in the doctor’s office every day.

At first it was a small neighborhood clinic, then testing at a university hospital.

Blood tests showed extremely high CEA (CLEIA) values.

Normal levels are 0 to 5, but mine was 956.

The university hospital did days of testing. Unfortunately, it's lung cancer.

And it has already grown past Stage 1.

Right now, I need to dedicate all my time to lung cancer treatment, so all tours and shows are postponed until next year.

I’m sorry to cause you all to worry. Your support and encouragement means so much to me.

You have my promise that I will make a comeback, and that you will hear my voice again.

“Our burning soul, our only path!! SAMURAI HARDCORE!!”

This is a message of love to all our friends and fans.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support and encouragement for the band AGGRESSIVE DOGS.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the live music industry, and the whole world, has been turned upside down. We chose to stay optimistic and continue working on our music.

Unfortunately, right in the middle of this chaos, the leader and vocalist UZI-ONE fell ill, and hospital exams detected a malignant tumor.

The diagnosis is Stage 2 to 3 lung cancer.

Thank you for reading this announcement, and thank you in advance for your love and support.

Please keep reading for more details.

On August 26th, 2020, Mr. UZI received a medical exam to investigate his illness.

CT scans showed white patches that suggested a diagnosis of lung cancer.

Next, cell biopsy and pathological testing was performed at facilities with proven records of cancer treatment (Kameda Medical Center in Minamiboso, Chiba and Juntendo University Hospital). The diagnosis is adenocarcinoma of the left upper lobe, also known as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

PET exams revealed two tumors in the same lung. Meanwhile, blood tests for CEA (a tumor marker) showed values as high as 956ng/ml, compared to the healthy standard of ≦1.0 to 5.0ng/ml.

This suggested a high probability of metastatic spread, but it has only moved to the lymph nodes of the same lung. That’s everything up to today.

Intensive treatment for cancer will begin soon. But there is a large obstacle.

The 3 current standard methods of treating cancer are surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.

The most common of these methods is surgery to remove the tumor directly. Although this method has a high rate of successful remission, doctors agree that it would require removal of the left lung, with a possibility of Mr. UZI losing his voice.

But there is a another option that will allow him to keep his voice: heavy particle beam (carbon ion) radiation therapy.

Heavy particle beams are centered on the tumor to deliver focused radiation therapy that shows a similar success rate to surgery, without the physical trauma of surgery.

The supervising doctor has agreed to a treatment plan of 1 radiation exposure a day for 16 days, for a total dose of 72Gy (RBE).

The largest barrier to this treatment is cost.

This advanced therapy is not covered by health insurance, so the full cost must be paid by the patient.

We are reaching out to our friends and fans for support. Crowdfunding will be arranged to help pay for the heavy particle beam therapy.

If Mr. UZI loses his voice, it will mean a sudden end to a 37 year long music career.

But music is more than just his career, it is the meaning of his life.

His desire to sing and perform is unchanged. There is still so much to be accomplished, and we refuse to let the music stop.

18 years ago, Mr. UZI’s lost his older brother to leukemia, a cancer that affects blood cells.

At the end of his brother’s life, they made a promise to keep singing until the very end.

Crowdfunding details will be announced as soon as the page is prepared.

Thank you for your patience.
