Hi, my name is Lauren and I'm asking for donations to help fund cancer treatment for Piddlesticks. About two weeks ago she began to experience leakage from one of her nipples, and I noticed she had a lump there as well. After speaking with a vet and surgeon I was told Piddlesticks most likely has cancer. Unfortunately once a tumor is found on a cat it is very likely to be malignant.
We decided the best course of action would be to remove her left mammary glands/chain, in hopes of slowing down the spread of the cancer. After the mammary glands are removed, the vet will be able to perform a biopsy that will give us more insight into how aggressive the cancer is. So far we have been extremely lucky in finding the tumor while it was still small, and being able to schedule her surgery so soon after discovery. This fundraiser will cover the cost of the mammary gland removal and biopsy, giving Piddlesticks more time with us.
I adopted Piddlesticks almost 7 years ago. When the shelter found her she was pregnant and had a broken jaw. After having her kittens and jaw surgery, she was in the shelter for a few more months before I met her and brought her home. Since then she has had to undergo several tooth extractions as a result of the trauma she experienced before. Despite it all Piddles has always been an extremely loving and happy cat. She has been with me for most of my adult life and helped me through several major life events, like my Dad passing away unexpectedly at the beginning of covid. She is a one of a kind cat and I feel extremely lucky to have had her in my life for this long. Right now she is still her regular happy self, which gives me hope that with the proper treatment there will be more happy times ahead for us. Any contributions you are able to make would be greatly appreciated, and we cannot thank you enough
