Hello and welcome to our GoFundMe page dedicated to a beloved Mother and Grandmother, Rosabella Nase.
Last year around the same time , I had the long awaited visit from my grandparents all the way from the Philippines. I moved to Canada about 6 years ago, and being born and raised in the Philippines by my Mom, she was often abroad for work. My Grandparents helped raised me and so when I found out that they were coming to visit , my excitement was through the roof. since it has been forever since I last saw them in person. It was such a beautiful time spent with them, even for just a couple of months. But during this time, our family had noticed a concerning mannerism from my grandmother, Rose. She had been coughing and constantly seemed to choke on anything; a tiny sip of water, a breathe of fresh air, even sleeping was not comfortable for her. Initially, we didn't see it as an emergency, because according to her it didn't bother her. Eventually, when my Grandparents had returned to the Philippines, We (being my mother and other concerned family members) suggested that Rose go to the Doctor and have her checked out. I think it is every family's nightmare to find out that someone very close and very important to them has Cancer, and unfortunately it was so for us. The doctor had ordered several tests to confirm Rose's diagnosis . We found out that Rose has a Stage 4 Lung Cancer on September of 2019.
Many tests were done to confirm her diagnosis, and many medications and treatments were prescribed to her. Some of the attachments are proof of one of many of her medical testing/s;

Her first treatment started in September of 2019, the same month she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She was prescribed a 6 month Chemotherapy treatment, with a Medication called Naveldine which costed a hefty 61,000php each month, that then translates into at least 1,800$ CAD. Apart of the first medication, she was also prescribed anti-nausea, painkillers and other supplementary medications that then would add up on the costs of the daily living expense as well. On March 2020, Rosabella had an episode of delirium due to a lack of oxygen in her brain. She was then rushed to emergency to be given Oxygen, and was then prescribed to have an Oxygen tank at home in case of another delirium episode. Had she not been rushed in the hospital in time, would've been fatal. Around April 2020 a drainage tube was inserted for her so that the building liquid in her left lung would drain while she was at home, providing what little relief it could while she is not admitted to a hospital due to the overcrowding of Corona Virus patients in the Philippines.

This is the new medication prescribed for her (that would costs us around 4,500$ CAD each month);

My grandmother is one of the strongest people I've known in my life. She struggled to put her family in a good place, raising 5 children while her husband was abroad, helping in terms of sending income. It was not always great, and money did not come as easy as people thought it would -- but she did. She made things happens, put her children to school and be the best Mother and Grandmother she could be. And my absolute hope is that I can return all her love she had given all of us, back. Rose is a fighter; and she continues to battle the Cancer despite her age and circumstances. She has a strong fighting spirit and will to live. Unfortunately, with the Corona Virus affecting the rest of the world it is yet another hurdle to overcome as We, as a family, have depleted all possible financial sources to provide for her new medication and treatment. She had been prescribed many treatments since her diagnosis in September of 2019 and it is not easy and cheap for any of us. Right now, she is currently on a trial Medication that costs at least 150,000php (Philippine Peso) that translates to roughly 4,500$ CAD each month. As per Doctor's order, the KEYTRUDA is an Immunotherapy drug medication to be given every 21 days which is about every month. Because this is a trial medication, the doctor has suggested that we keep in mind that it may take up to 3 months or more depending on how Rosabella will take to the new treatment.
As we speak now, we are in urgent need for these funds as we are all having a hard time coping up with the medical expenses and the last thing we want as a family is to give up so soon, when Rose never gave up on any of us. And for that, I ask the public, for the kindness in their hearts, if you could donate any amount to help us, our family, The Nase Family -- to keep Rose battling this Cancer.

If anyone else has other questions or concerns about my grandmother's case, do not hesitate to reach out to me by email. ([email redacted])
Whatever amount possible is such a huge help to our family, and in these trying times all we could do is be there for one another, as well as hope and pray for best. God Bless us All.
