Cancer Treatment Expenses for Cynthia Hohman

Our mother, Cindy, was unfortunately diagnosed this month with small cell lung cancer, a very aggressive form of lung cancer. While we are still waiting for the official staging of her diagnosis, we are so grateful to be able to say that we believe that doctors have found this cancer early and she has great odds for a cure. Our mother has worked so hard her whole life, working tirelessly while raising five wonderful children; and she is extremely blessed to have a great job, with great benefits, but unfortunately for most that just isn’t enough. She was extremely lucky to be accepted for treatment in Seattle where she will have a great chance to beat this awful disease and spend many more years here with her family and watch her seven beautiful grandchildren grow up. But as we all well know; travel expenses add up quickly. Best case scenario, she will have several months of chemotherapy and radiation ahead of her. Not only will she have the worry and burden of air fare, lodging, groceries, taxi/Uber, car rental and daily parking fees etc., but she will also have to take time off of work for treatment, and will not have her regular income to pay bills.

And God willing, if we can meet or even exceed our goal, extra donations will be able to go toward family travel expenses as well so that she doesn’t have to travel alone and go through this extremely scary and vulnerable time by herself.
