Cancer - Tough road ahead to a hopeful full recovery

Hello to all, my name is David Saumier, I am a husband to my amazing Wife Stacey and a father to an absolute wonderful son Wyatt.

This news may come to some shock to some, back in July and early August, I battled through some severe abdomen pains, and after many medical appointments and scans/tests, it was revealed that I had a growth/tumor in my upper abdomen the size of a softball. I was referred to an Oncologist right away who took no time in proceeding with a plan of attack. After a very important biopsy I was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer stage 2 in late August early September. Many appointments at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer wing have taken place since then. Cancer treatments have since started in early October with Chemotherapy cycles taking place every three weeks. This requires me to be at the hospital quite often with appointments and follow up appointments and also blood work etc.

Therefore the difficult decision was needed to be taken in late October where I need to take a leave of absence without pay from my work to be able to concentrate all my energy on my treatments and my family to be able to fight this Cancer.

The decision to have one of these Go Fund Me done up was not an easy one. My strong pride as a man and of course as a husband and a father of my amazing little family and the thought that I would not be able to provide for my family as much as I should be has been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. However, the best decision is to 100% put my pride aside and ask you all my Family, Friends, if you can all help raise some much needed financial support for me and my Family for the upcoming difficult months ahead while I fight this Cancer head on and battle this without having to worry that my family is struggling.

I will be forever in debt of you all that help while I keep battling through these Chemotherapy treatments.
