Hello my name is Jon Platten. I live in Layton Utah with my wife and daughter. This GoFundMe account is a fund raiser to help with the ongoing medical expenses of rectal cancer surgeries. Two portocath surgeries, an LAR (Low Anterior Resection with Ileostomy) and an Ileostomy take down (reversal). My doctor told me this was the worst case (due to an infected mass above the tumor) they had to deal with in 38 years. They literally had to piece me back together.
On January 9, 2015 I was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer, Stage 2 T-3. I went through 43 days straight of chemo therapy with a bag of chemo and pump and 28 sessions of radiation. Then the ileostomy reversal and 8 session of Oxaliplatin chemo, sitting in a recliner for 3 hours on Thursdays and then wearing the chemo bag and pump for 3 days after each session.
My friends have opened a GoFundMe account in hopes that many will be able to assist me with the a portion of the medical expenses that have placed a severe financial burden on my family.
