I am Timothy Timko. A father of three, grandfather of two. I was a steelworker here in Warren, Ohio for 23 years, until our mill closed in 2012. I was unemployed for almost 16 months, and we used up every penny we owned.
I went back to school to learn a new trade, and found employment but at a much lower hourly rate. 13 months later, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 prostate cancer. I had a radical prostatectomy to give me the best chance for a better recovery. Now I have needed medical supplies to live my daily life and stay functioning.
As I was recovering from my surgery, a small storm caused damage to our roof, causing it to leak. Our deductible was $1000 for storm damage. When you are on sick leave, that is impossible to come up with. I have since returned to work, but over the last year, we cannot manage to raise any extra money to pay for anything more than our monthly expenses.
Some of our prized possessions are being sold off to help raise the funds we need. Which is breaking my wife's heart. So.. I am swallowing my pride and kindly asking for help.
