Sally Lavigne's Cancer Treatment and Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Gina, and I am fundraising for one of the most giving people I know. Her name is Sally Lavigne. She is loved so much that several of her closest friends wanted to write something about her, so here we go.
Sally has worked hard her entire life - putting herself through college while playing soccer for the school, becoming all-in with her students with special needs and while creating curriculum and programs that are still being used over a decade later. Getting her master's degree as well as becoming a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) while still teaching.
She does everything in her power, not only to help improve the lives of special-needs individuals, but to train and support others around those individuals in order to create a healthier family and a community that is more whole.
Her life has revolved around working to help children with developmental disabilities which led to Sally opening her own business 2 years ago. She goes into homes to work with the child, but also trains the rest of the family and/or care staff on how to continue the care when she is not there.
She has made unbelievable sacrifices in order to continue to help these children in the manner that she does. Unfortunately, that means that her resources have been depleted during the business startup. So, when her health began declining last year and thyroid cancer was diagnosed, she used up everything she had.
Sally is a single mom with 2 school-aged children, one of which just found out they had Type 1 diabetes. Sally is trying to figure out how to keep life ‘normal’ for her children, while also trying to keep the incredible progress going with her students/clients.
The newest diagnosis being a complex Bosniak Type 3 cystic lesion inside her kidney (Renal cancer), meant a costly trip to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. She has returned and will have a partial Nephrectomy (partial kidney removal) at SLU in St. Louis. After the costly trip to the Mayo Clinic, the surgery and following 3-month recovery are beyond the reach of what Sally is able to afford.
If you are able to help her, in any way, please click the button below.
Thank you for your support.
As God is the glory...she will fight for her earthly body to be rid of this evil beast. Amen
