The words of her husband, Aaron Rogers...
She is mom, babe, Steph. She is our mom, wife, best friend. She is, mom I’m hungry, I’m sick, I’m tired, I’m late. She’s our ride, our maid, our chef, our server, our fun advisor, our daily planner, our answers to any questions we would ever have. She finds everything we cannot. She is the woman behind the man. She is my second thought because my first is never good. She is the matriarch of the family, the most important person in the world to us four boys. We cannot function without her. Crying hysterically as I write this because this could be our nightmare. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and a brca 1 gene. Few things in life are as frightening as a cancer diagnosis. The mere thought of having cancer strikes fear in our hearts, as well it should. Cancer, in its many forms, takes so many lives, and it plays no favorites. It claims the old and the young, males and females, the fit and the unfit. It can appear suddenly, changing lives in the blink-of-an eye, leaving behind only sadness, and silence. This is a fast acting cancer. She’s done the research, speaking with doctors, cancer survivors and more research. She’s put together a team of doctors to help. The financial burden cancer places on a family is immeasurable. Every cent donated will help our matriarch, our everything raise these boys into men.
