I, Gidget Smith, release this medical information and ask for donations on behalf of Tabby Moran (Emily). Every penny will go directly to her alone.
Your support will go towards her medical bills, such as copays, prescription costs, and gas to get to doctors' appointments, as well as living expenses (currently without a permanent home), and finally funeral costs.
In November Tabby had some suspicious knots removed and biopsied from her neck. The devastating news came back. That dreaded word that breaks the heart of so many...cancer. The drs didn't right away know from where the cancer had started so it was labeled as malignant neoplasm. Now the clock starts, racing to find the source , the beginning of where the cancer had started. The next few days were filled up with MRIs, CT scans, and doctors appointments. The test came back on December 10th. The cancer had originated within the lungs. Aggressive small cell lung cancer followed by immunomorphological high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma. What happened next completely shocked us all. It was stage 4 and it was growing by the day. By the time she learned of the cancer it had already spread (metastasized). This cancer moves fast, so fast, that they gave Tabby less than 6 months. (This was discussed in December; it is now the end of January) Time is running out. Tabby was given the option of doing chemotherapy and radiation to extend her life by just a few more months, however, she would be violently sick during that time with no guarantee she would even survive the harsh therapy of chemo. Tabby has chosen to have quality over the remaining few months left of her life, over that of quantity (the possibly of a few extra months riddled with extremely harsh reactions to treatment).
Tabby is no stranger to cancer. She watched as her Grandmother, followed by her Mother, and finally her Beloved long-term boyfriend, Michael Barrier struggle to fight this disease. She has seen firsthand what was waiting for her no matter her decision. The end result was clear. She is dying.
Tabby has always been one to help others. She has worked alongside Tracy Williams with cancer services since 2010. And has given to others even when she herself had nothing. She always managed to find a way to help. This girl has a huge heart to match that big beautiful smile!
Now Tabby needs our help, our support, and most of all our prayers. time is of the essence!! Every day that passes she grows closer to being called home. Please join me in doing the only thing I know to do to help her right now, and that is to elevate some of the financial stress and burden she faces in her last few months here with us.
Tabby wishes to convey this message...
"I want to start off by thanking my family and friends for their love and support as I face this harsh new reality. May God bless and protect you till we are together again. I love you! "
Tabby
